Artists, friends and fans have been paying tribute to Nanci Griffith, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award winner, who passed away last Friday. Her death was confirmed by her management in statement, but no cause was given.
Best known for songs including Love at the Five and Dime, Gulf Coast Highway and the Outbound Plane, Griffith described her music as "folkabilly", she released her final album "Intersection" in 2012 before retiring in 2013.
