In this recently released video from Asleep At The Wheel, Ray Benson talks about working with Elizabeth Cook on the song ‘I Had Someone Else Before I Had You’ from the new album ‘Still The King – Celebrating The Music of Bob Willis’.
Here’s what Asleep At The Wheel said about the song, “This old tune originally done by Roy Bargy and The Benson Orchestra of Chicago was a perfect fit for Elizabeth Cook. With her wonderful Betty Boop style voice , she captured the vocal style of the early ’30s wonderfully! Another example of the big band and blues songs that made up a large part of the Playboys repertoire.”
