Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band are back and full of life.
The band, led by the mercurial John “Drumbo” French performed a stellar concert of the Captain’s music in London during their spring tour in 2013. Joining the aforementioned Drumbo on stage are Danny “Feelers Reebo” Walley and Mark “Rockette Morton” Boston, supported by their younger disciples Eric Klerks and Craig Bunch. They deliver an inspired performance of one of the most exceptional avant-garde musical repertoires of our time.
Recorded live at Chelsea Under The Bridge on March 16, 2013, this thirteen track album features twelve original Don Van Vliet compositions and a Willie Dixon/Bo Diddley penned track, together forming a true musical testament to the legacy of the great Captain Beefheart.
